I am a multi-disciplinary creative director, working across brands, advertising and entertainment.
Most recently I was (briefly) the Chief Creative Officer of McCann London.
Prior to that I was the Executive Creative Director of Channel 4’s in-house agency, 4creative for 5 years – leading it through its most creatively awarded period, ever.
Before that I held creative director roles at Havas London and Condé Nast UK (British Vogue, GQ and WIRED).
I started my career as a graphic designer for Neville Brody and co-founded the counter-culture press/publisher Ditto Press.
I curve-balled into advertising as a creative strategist at BBH London.
I have created and led work that has been awarded at every major international show, including many Yellow D&AD Pencils, the British Arrows Commercial of the Year and the Cannes Lions Film Grand Prix.
I have very kindly been asked to sit on and chair juries at Cannes Lions, British Arrows, D&AD, Creative Circle, Campaign BIG, Creative Review Annual and Ciclope, mainly judging Film and Film Craft. I have done various talks in various countries that I haven’t ballsed up, and I am a trustee of the Creative Foundation.
I am hugely indebted to the brilliant people who have taught me, worked with me and told me when I’m being a pain.
Originally from the North East of England, I studied at Camberwell College of Art and made London my home.
